Cub Scouts 2011-2012

Pack-7 has been having a great scouting year.  Thank you to all parents for your continued participation and support, we hope you are looking forward to a fun year ahead!  Pack meetings (all scouts) will be held the third or fourth Thursday of each month at Homecroft Elementary School, from 6:00 PM (sharp!) to 7:00 PM.  Den meetings (scout dens) will be arranged to fit the schedules of the Scouts and their Den leaders, usually the first two Thursdays of each month at 6:00 PM at Homecroft.  Contact you Den leader for more information.

Jan 26 - January Pack Meeting

When:     Thursday,  January 26 - 6:00PM
Where:    Homecroft
Info:         Join us for the Arrow of Light Ceremony and Cross Over as the Webelos II Scouts cross over to the Boy Scout Troop and the dens perform skits for the Pack. It’s also a glossy paper collection date so keep saving them (all those holiday ads and catalogs count too!).


Feb 16 - Pinewood Derby

When:     Thursday,  February 16 - 5:30PM
Where:    Homecroft
Info:        Registration starts at 5:30 and racing starts promptly at 6:00  See Pack-7 Tips and Tools

For those who have participated before you know that time is needed to adjust your car for maximum performance so please plan on arriving as close to 5:30 as possible. Car specifications are listed on the instruction sheet.  Pack meeting and via email. Please pay attention to the rules as your boys construct their pinewood derby cars. Parents and siblings may race in the open category. Oils and silicone sprays are NOT permitted.

There will be pizza provided with a freewill donation (suggested $3/person or $10/family) to help defray the cost. We are still looking for volunteers to help with setup, judging, and the Voyageurs takedown. Please contact your den leader if you are interested in helping make this another successful race.

 


New Page Magazine Collection Program Fundraiser

When:     Collection of glossies at our October, January, and April pack meetings.
Where:    Homecroft 
Info:        The glossy fundraiser is back again this year!  Please keep saving your glossy paper (magazines, catalogs, shiny newspaper inserts and white paper).  New Page will pay our Pack $0.10 per pound for the glossy’s we deliver.  They recycle the paper and our Pack gets paid - what a great win-win situation!  Last year our glossy collection totaled more than 5000 pounds and resulted in over $500 for our Pack. 

This money was used to pay for pizza, Christmas bingo prizes, Vertical Endeavors, Scout night with the Huskies, and other great Pack sponsored family events.  This year we will collect glossy’s at our October, January and April pack meetings.  


We need volunteers so please look at the Volunteer Opportunities and see if there is something you can do to help us out.
